2 Та хоч ми нате́рпілися перед тим, і дізнали зневаги в Фили́пах, як знаєте, проте ми відва́жилися в нашім Бозі звіщати вам Божу Єва́нгелію з великою боротьбою. |
|
3 Бо покли́кання наше було не з обмани, ані з нечи́стости, ані від лука́вства, |
|
4 але, як Бог визнав нас гідними, щоб нам доручити Єва́нгелію, ми говоримо так, не лю́дям дого́джуючи, але Богові, що випробо́вує наші серця. |
|
5 Ми сло́ва підле́сливого не вживали ніко́ли, як знаєте, і не винні в заже́рливості. Бог свідок тому́! |
|
6 Не шукаємо ми слави в людей, ані в вас, ані в інших. |
|
7 Хоч могли ми поту́жними бути, як Христові апо́столи, але ми серед вас були тихі, немов годува́льниця та, яка доглядає дітей своїх. |
|
8 Так бувши ласка́ві до вас, хотіли ми вам передати не тільки Божу Єва́нгелію, але й ду́ші свої, бо були́ ви улю́блені нам. |
|
9 Бо ви пам'ятаєте, браття, наше стру́днення й уто́му: день і ніч ми робили, щоб жодного з вас не обтя́жити, і проповідували вам Божу Єва́нгелію. |
|
10 Ви свідки та Бог, як свято, і праведно, і бездога́нно пово́дилися ми між вами, віруючими! |
|
11 Бож знаєте ви, як кожного з вас, немов ба́тько дітей своїх власних, |
|
12 просили ми вас, і намо́влювали та показували, щоб ви гідно пово́дилися перед Богом, що покликав вас у Своє Царство та в славу. |
|
13 |
|
14 Бо стали ви, бра́ття, наслідувачами Церквам Божим, що в Юдеї в Христі Ісусі, бо те саме і ви були ви́терпіли від своїх землякі́в, як і ті від юдеїв, |
|
15 що вбили вони й Господа Ісуса, і пророків Його, і вигнали нас, і Богові не догоджа́ють, і супротивні всім лю́дям. |
|
16 Вони забороняють нам говорити поганам, щоб спаслися, щоб тим доповня́ти їм за́вжди провини свої. Але Божий гнів їх спіткає вкінці! |
|
17 |
|
18 Тим то до вас ми хотіли прийти, я, Павло, раз і двічі, але сатана́ перешкодив був нам. |
|
19 Бо хто нам надія, чи радість, чи вінок похвали́? Хіба ж то й не ви перед Господом нашим Ісусом в Його прихо́ді? |
|
20 Бо ви наша слава та радість! |

|
1 SO you yourselves, my brethren, know that our entrance among you was not in vain: |
|
2 But from the beginning we suffered and as you know were treated shamefully, at Philip'pi; then with more struggle but with confidence in our God, we preached to you the gospel of Christ. |
|
3 For our comfort did not spring from deception, nor from uncleanness, nor from enticing speech: |
|
4 But just as we have been examined by God to be entrusted with his gospel, even so we speak, not to please men, but to please God who searches our hearts. |
|
5 And we have never used flattering words, as you know, to conceal greed; God is witness: |
|
6 And we have not sought support from men, neither from you, nor from others, when we could have been burdensome on you for our maintenance, as the apostles of Christ should be. |
|
7 But we were meek when we were among you, and like a foster mother who loves her children: |
|
8 Likewise, we are affectionately desirous to give you, not only the gospel of God, but even our lives, because you were dear to us. |
|
9 For you remember, brethren, that we labored hard, working night and day, with our hands, so that we would not burden you. |
|
10 You are witnesses, and God also, how we preached to you the gospel of God, purely and righteously, and we lived blamelessly among all the believers. |
|
11 You know how we exhorted and encouraged and charged every one of you, as a father does his children, |
|
12 And we bore the testimony to you, so that you may live a life worthy of God, who has called you to his kingdom and glory. |
|
13 For this cause also we thank God continually, because, when you received the word of God which you heard from us you received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which works effectively in you who believe. |
|
14 For you, my brethren, have taken the pattern of the churches of God in Judµa which are in Christ Jesus: for you also have suffered from the people of your own tribe, even as they have suffered from the Jews; |
|
15 Who both killed the LORD Jesus Christ, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God, and are against all men; |
|
16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, adding this to their sins always; but the wrath of God is upon them to the uttermost. |
|
17 But we, brethren, have been deprived of your affection for a little while, yet only in presence and not in heart, so we have with great love vigorously endeavored to see your faces. |
|
18 And we have wanted to come to you; I, Paul, tried several times but Satan hindered me. |
|
19 For what is our hope, our joy, or crown of our glorying? Is it not you in the presence of our LORD Jesus when he comes? |
|
20 For you are our glory and our joy. |

8 Так бувши ласка́ві до вас, хотіли ми вам передати не тільки Божу Єва́нгелію, але й ду́ші свої, бо були́ ви улю́блені нам. |

12 просили ми вас, і намо́влювали та показували, щоб ви гідно пово́дилися перед Богом, що покликав вас у Своє Царство та в славу. |

14 Бо стали ви, бра́ття, наслідувачами Церквам Божим, що в Юдеї в Христі Ісусі, бо те саме і ви були ви́терпіли від своїх землякі́в, як і ті від юдеїв, |
14 For you, my brethren, have taken the pattern of the churches of God in Judµa which are in Christ Jesus: for you also have suffered from the people of your own tribe, even as they have suffered from the Jews; |

15 що вбили вони й Господа Ісуса, і пророків Його, і вигнали нас, і Богові не догоджа́ють, і супротивні всім лю́дям. |
15 Who both killed the LORD Jesus Christ, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God, and are against all men; |
|
16 Вони забороняють нам говорити поганам, щоб спаслися, щоб тим доповня́ти їм за́вжди провини свої. Але Божий гнів їх спіткає вкінці! |
16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, adding this to their sins always; but the wrath of God is upon them to the uttermost. |

18 Тим то до вас ми хотіли прийти, я, Павло, раз і двічі, але сатана́ перешкодив був нам. |
18 And we have wanted to come to you; I, Paul, tried several times but Satan hindered me. |

19 Бо хто нам надія, чи радість, чи вінок похвали́? Хіба ж то й не ви перед Господом нашим Ісусом в Його прихо́ді? |
19 For what is our hope, our joy, or crown of our glorying? Is it not you in the presence of our LORD Jesus when he comes? |
|
20 Бо ви наша слава та радість! |
20 For you are our glory and our joy. |
